| INTERSHIP
aims to increase competitiveness of EU shipbuilders by better
inte-grating tools and methods for design and manufacturing
of complex one-of-a-kind vessels. The IP will enable shipyard
engineers to consider leading edge knowledge in environmental
aspects, safety, comfort and cost efficiency in simultaneous
engi-neering, thus making sure, that optimum solutions can be
obtained for the total life-cycle of complex ships.INTERSHIP
will also focus on improving vertical integration between shipyards,
owners, suppliers, classification societies and horizontal coop-eration
between EU shipyards. Aspects like education and training, innovation
management in shipyards and cooperation with other projects
and industries will be covered in horizontal actions, making
sure that the project results are quickly im-plemented for the
benefit of the entire European maritime community. |

| (2006-12-20) | | Call for proposals for sub-project VI-4 | | The InterSHIP consortium has published a new request for proposals. Proposals might be submitted for the subproject VI-4. The deadline is the 12 January 2007. Until this date, a short description of the project specification has to be submitted. These drafts will be evaluated and a list of potential candidates will be pre-selected. These organisations will then be invited to submit a full proposal in a second step. Further information regarding the call can be found in the document "Information document for the VI-4 call".
